Viewfinder inner lens surfaces cleaned. Rangefinder cleaned and adjusted.
Lens:
Shutter mechanisms cleaned and lubricated. Shutter speeds checked. Flash sync checked. Inner lens elements cleaned. Focusing mecanism lubricated.
Some coating damage on the rear element and inside of the front element that may affect image quality in bright, direct light.

Medium format rangefinder camera introduced in 1969. Universal is the last design of Mamiya Press-series rangefinder cameras. It lacks the swing/tilt rear back, which previous models had but enables to mount Graflex and Polaroid backs with separate adapters. Because these cameras were made for professional use it offers really good and highly durable built quality, lots of accessories and wide variety of Mamiya lenses. Viewfinder is big and bright with clear rangefinder patch and has selectable framelines for 100mm, 150mm and 250mm focal lengths.

We use period-appropriate, professional-grade testing equipment as necessary to accurately assess shutter performance. These machines tell us how long a shutter stays open and whether or not the shutter curtains are moving correctly. We have multiple machines that allow us to test nearly every camera type available.

Infinity Focusing & Rangefinder Alignment
Our collimator is used to simulate infinity focus for the purpose of ensuring lens alignment & focus at any distance. We also use a special high-contrast target board to ensure that rangefinders are properly aligned both vertically & horizontally.
