Voigtländer Prominent 6x9 - Camera

Medium format manual focus folder camera made by Voigtländer in 1932. Company's first rangefinder camera, uses 120 format film. Rangefinder is separate from the viewfinder, found on the top edge when the camera is held in portrait orientation and is coupled to the focusing system. Unusually features a split view rather than a superimposed double image. Viewfinder is located on the long edge, and has a built in mask for 6x4.5 format. By default takes eight 6x9 sized exposures, capable of sixteen 6x4.5 shots as well. The prominent was the first camera to include a built-in light meter which had the scale for shutter speeds ranging from 1/500s to 60s. Focusing can be adjusted with the camera being folded close and in this case the focusing system is pre-tensioned to set itself to the correct position once the camera is opened. Metal body in black finish.
