Model Details

Manual focus wide-angle lens made for R-mount 35mm SLR cameras introduced by Leica in 1990. This is the second version of the lens that improved overall performance with a new optical formula and internal focusing. It uses a built-in revolving filter ring equipped with four filters: Yellow/Green (YG), Blue Conversion (KB12), Orange (Or), and a Neutral Density x1 (NDx1). This lens has a 3-Cam mount. 3-Cam lenses have two sloped cams and a third stepped cam and are compatible with all Leicaflex and R-series cameras. Metal body available in black (11258).

Leica R

Leica introduced the R system in 1964 as an alternative to their M mount rangefinders and as a response to the successful SLR systems of the time, including Nikon F and Pentax M42. The R system was produced, with some modifications, until 2009.

Most R mount lenses can be used on any R mount camera, but there are compatibility issues with both the oldest and newest lenses. Over time, Leica added features and technology to the lenses that made them incompatible.
