Manual focus full-frame M-mount digital rangefinder camera introduced by Leica in 2015. The M Monochrom Typ 246 is similar to the M Typ 240 in design and features, but like its predecessor has a monochromatic black and white sensor with no color filter array. This allows it to capture more of the available light with greater detail, but it cannot perceive color. It also uses a CMOS sensor instead of the older CCD, like on the original M Monochrom. It has a 3” rear LCD, uses SD cards for storage, and records up to 1080p 25fps video. The viewfinder has a magnification of 0.68x and framelines for 35/135mm, 28/90mm, and 50/75mm. Metal body available in black (10930).
