Manual focus normal lens made for M-mount rangefinder cameras introduced by Leica in 1959. Leica made many different versions of the 5cm f2 Summicron that differ in both design and optical formula. This is the dual range version of the second model of the lens. The body of the second model changed to a non-collapsible, rigid design with a slightly different optical formula. The number of elements stayed the same, but the shape of the elements in the front two groups had changed slightly. This dual range version was made available as a near-focus lens that came with a set of detachable goggles (SDPOO). Its dual focus range system allows the lens to focus closer than any other M-mount lens with full parallax correction and rangefinder coupling while the googles are attached. To switch to the normal focus range, one simply needs to detach the goggles. This lens is not compatible with digital Leica cameras aside from the M10. Metal body available in silver.
