Minolta CLE (Gold Edition) - Camera

Manual focus 35mm M-mount rangefinder camera released by Minolta in 1981. This special gold edition of the CLE was made in a limited batch of only 300 units and sold together with a gold 40mm f2 M-Rokkor. It was exclusively made for the Japanese market. The LCD was the result of a cooperation between Minolta and Leica, from which the first camera was the CL. Unlike the CL, Leica did not sell the CLE under its own name, as the CL was seen as a competitor to the failed M5. It is based on the XG-series SLRs from Minolta. It has framelines for 28, 40, and 90mm. Metal body available in gold.
