Hasselblad released their X system of medium format digital mirrorless cameras in 2016. Stagnating sales of the Hasselblad H digital cameras and improvements to mirrorless technology gave the perfect opportunity for Hasselblad to switch markets.
Like the earlier V series, Hasselblad X lenses have built-in leaf shutters that allow for flash sync at any speed. While there are only a few lenses available for the system, Hasselblad produces adapters for using older V series and H series lenses.
