Sony E
The Sony E-mount is designed for Sony mirrorless cameras. The E-mount was released in 2010 for the NEX APS-C cameras that later became the Sony alpha cameras, such as the a6000. Designed for mirrorless, it has a much shorter flange distance compared to the Sony A-mount - only 18mm. Therefore, many lenses can be adapted to be used on the Sony E-mount. Nearly all manual lenses can be attached with simple metal adapters and Canon EF(-S), Nikon F, Contax N & Contax 645 AF lenses can be used with mount specific smart adapters with true electronic integration allowing EXIF data, autofocus, image stabilization etc.
The mount was later used on the full-frame mirrorless cameras, such as the Sony a7 - nicknamed Sony FE. The mount is the same, but due to the image circle of the lenses, you need to be careful to buy the lenses meant for full frame cameras.
