Autofocus telephoto zoom lens made for EF-S mount digital SLRs by Canon. It was made for APS-C-sized sensors and gives the equivalent field of view to an 82.5-375mm lens on full frame/35mm. It uses a stepping motor (STM) for faster, quieter autofocus and a built-in image stabilization (IS) system. Plastic body available in black.

Canon’s EF-S system was announced in 2003 as the crop sensor variant of the standard EF mount. EF-S lenses are designed for DSLR cameras with APS-C sized sensors. The S in EF-S even stands for small!
EF lenses intended for full frame cameras can be mounted on EF-S bodies, but EF-S lenses cannot be mounted on EF bodies.
