Manual focus wide normal lens made for M-mount rangefinder cameras by Leica starting in 1961. This is the first version of the Summilux, designed for use with the M3. It comes with accessory goggles to accommodate 35mm frame lines in the viewfinder. This Type I lens uses E41 filters and the OLLUX 12522 hood. It was later changed in 1966 (Type II) to use Series VII filters and the 12504 hood. This lens has an exposed Steel Rim that was usually painted together with the body on the black lenses. Metal body available in black (11872).
