Manual focus wide normal lens made for M-mount rangefinder cameras by Leica starting in 1960. This is the first version of the Summilux, designed for use with the M3. It comes with accessory goggles to accommodate 35mm frame lines in the viewfinder. This Type I lens uses E41 filters and the OLLUX 12522 hood. It was later changed in 1966 (Type II) to use Series VII filters and the 12504 hood. All Type I lenses have an infinity lock and the so-called Steel Rim. Metal body available in silver (11871).
