Manual focus telephoto lens made for M-mount rangefinder cameras introduced by Leica in 1957. Leica made many versions of the 9cm/90mm f2 Summicron. This is the first version of the lens. The lens is identical to the LTM M39 version (SOOZI), but for the M system. It uses the removable lens hood HMOOD (12527). It has a factory-fitted screw-to-bayonet adapter, indicating that the lens was built upon the chassis of the LTM M39 mount version. The lens was produced in Canada, but a few early production lenses (about 200, made as early as 1953) were assembled in Germany. Metal body available in silver (11127).
