PL Mount

Arri PL is a lens mount that was introduced by motion picture camera manufacturer ARRI. The PL mount is used for 16mm and 35mm movie cameras and has been adopted by most movie camera companies in the world. The PL stands for “positive lock” and was the second lens mount made by Arri, the first being the Arri bayonet which is not compatible with the Arri PL.

Thanks to the popularity of the Arri PL mount most digital movie cameras today use this system, such as Sony, Canon, Phantom, Black Magic and many more. PL mount lenses are adaptable to mirrorless systems.
