Manual focus M-mount 35mm camera introduced by Leica in 1964. The MD is a specialty camera intended for scientific applications such as photomicroscopy. The body resembles the M2 but lacks the viewfinder and rangefinder. This version of the camera has a standard baseplate that does not accommodate the 4mm plastic marker strips. Metal body available in silver (10101).
