Manual focus M-mount 35mm rangefinder camera introduced by Leica in 1971. It was the first Leica rangefinder to feature built-in electronics and TTL metering and was the last Leica rangefinder built by hand in Wetzlar, Germany. It has a 0.72x magnification viewfinder with a 49.32mm baselength, which is longer than other Leica M models. The M5 featured many new design choices that set it apart from the earlier M cameras and has henceforth been subject to many love-hate responses from M camera enthusiasts. Metal body available in black (10502).
