35mm manual focus Leica M mount rangefinder camera released by Minolta in 1980. Result of a cooperation between Minolta and Leica from which the first camera was the CL. Unlike the CL, Leica did not sell the CLE under their own name, as the CL was seen as a competitor to the failed M5. Based on the XG-series SLRs from Minolta. Framelines for 28, 40, and 90mm. Metal body available in black or gold (special version, 300 produced).
