Manual focus R-mount 35mm SLR camera introduced by Leica in 1988. The R6 can be seen as a rugged modern successor to the SL and SL2. It features a fully mechanical, non-battery-dependent shutter. Only the light meter and self-timer are powered by two S76 (SR44) batteries. It has many new features, such as mirror lock-up (activated by a cable release), interchangeable focusing screens, selective and integrated metering, and built-in diopter control in the viewfinder. It also has TTL automatic exposure control with +- compensation. The camera is compatible with 3-Cam and 3rd Cam lenses that transmit both maximum and set apertures to the TTL exposure meter. It is also compatible with the Leica Motor Winder and drive. Metal body available in black (10070).
