Manual focus wide normal M-mount lens made for rangefinder cameras introduced by Leica in 1966. This is the second version of the original Summilux from 1960 and was introduced at serial number 2166701. It uses Series VII filters and the 12504 hood instead of the older E41 filters and the OLLUX 12522 hood. The lens was no longer available in silver after this change. NOTE: The product code from the silver type I carries over to the black type II. It uses 7 spherical elements. Early examples incorporate an infinity lock, while later examples do not. This catalog is for the early model with a non-painted chrome infinity lock. Metal body available in black (11870).
