Staff Notes

The rangefinder is a bit misaligned. It does not reach infinity. The lens and viewfinder have some minor haze inside that will not affect use or image quality. One of the strap lugs is bent.

Minolta A5 - Camera

Manual focus 35mm rangefinder camera released by Minolta in 1960. A few different versions were produced with different lenses/shutter combinations. The camera also had a restyled version made in 1966. The newer version had a different top plate with a window for the frame counter instead of a dial. It also has a different advance lever that protrudes from the back instead of the top. Metal body available in silver.

  • Minolta 45mm f2 Rokkor (6 elements) (Japan) or 45mm f2.8 Rokkor (4 elements) (USA) or 40mm f2.8 Rokkor (1966 version)
  • Minimum focus distance: 0.9m / 0.8m
  • Shutter: Citizen leaf shutter, 1s - 1/1000s (1/500s on USA version) or Seiko-SLV, 1s - 1/500s + B (1966 version)
