VAT, Import Duties & Taxes
📦 KAMERASTORE orders ship from Finland 🇫🇮
When placing an order from any retailer, there are generally two types of taxes you may encounter: Sales Tax and Import Fees. Depending on your order, you may see one, both, or neither applied. If you have questions please contact us or read the full details below.
Sales Tax / VAT
What is it? Possible taxes on your purchase at checkout.
European Union (EU) Orders
Orders shipped within the EU are subject to Value Added Tax (VAT). All applicable VAT is calculated and included in the price at checkout.
Note on the EU Margin Scheme: Some of our products are sold under the EU VAT margin scheme (typically second-hand, vintage, or collectible items). VAT is included in the price but not shown separately on the invoice, which is a legal requirement. This does not increase the price you pay.
Outside the EU (USA, UK, etc.)
Applicable local sales tax, GST, VAT, or similar consumption tax will be calculated and displayed at checkout if required. If no tax is shown at checkout, no sales tax is being charged on your order.
-
Where we are registered to collect local taxes, the applicable tax will be calculated and displayed at checkout.
-
Where we are not registered, no sales tax will be charged at checkout.
Sales tax rules vary by country and may change over time. Customers are responsible for understanding local sales tax obligations where we are not registered to collect tax.
Import Duties & Import Taxes (Import Fees)
What is it? Possible charges applied by customs when goods enter your country.
Import duties, customs fees, and import taxes are separate from sales tax. These are assessed by the destination country’s customs authorities and may apply regardless of whether we collect sales tax at checkout.
- Currently, import duties and taxes are not collected at checkout. You may be required to pay these fees upon delivery.
-
In the future, we may offer the option to prepay import duties and taxes at checkout to allow for faster and uninterrupted customs clearance.
Import duties and import taxes are determined by the destination country and may vary based on product type, value, and other factors.
Official information for US customers can be found on the U.S. Customs & Border Protection website.
