35mm manual focus rangefinder camera using the Contax/Kiev mount introduced in 1932 by Contax. Contax's first attempt at making a 35mm camera after Leica's success with their A model. Plagued with issues from the very beginning, many variations of the Contax I were made during the years it was manufactured. Many got recalled and either remanufactured or replaced in their entirety. Especially known to have an unreliable shutter. Finder mask for 13.5cm lens. Brass body in black enamel finish.
