Manual focus normal lens made for R-mount 35mm SLR cameras, initially introduced by Leica in 1970. This special Safari edition was introduced in 1977 and was only manufactured in a small batch of lenses. Leica made multiple versions of the 50mm f1.4 lens. This is the first version and is often referred to as Type I v1. It uses Series VII or E48 filters and does not have a built-in lens hood. This lens has a 3-Cam mount. 3-Cam lenses have two sloped cams and a third stepped cam and are compatible with all Leicaflex and R-series cameras. Metal body available in safari green (11876).
