Manual focus M-mount 35mm rangefinder camera introduced by Leica in 1997. The M6 is similar to the M4-P but adds through-the-lens metering. The top cover was changed to a zinc casting making the M6 stronger than the previous M series cameras. At launch, the M6 was only available with a 0.72x viewfinder. This model from 1997 introduced a 0.85x viewfinder making it more suited for lenses 50mm or longer. This change also removed the 28mm framelines. The 0.85x M6 has framelines for 35/135mm, 50/75mm, and 90mm in the viewfinder and was only available in black. Metal body available in black (10413).
