Manual focus 35mm rangefinder camera released by Olympus in 1979. The XA was designed by Yoshihisa Maitani, who also designed the OM-1 SLR. It is capable of aperture priority auto exposure using a built-in CdS light meter. The clamshell lens cover functions as the power switch. A switch on the bottom of the camera allows for backlight compensation (+1.5 stops), battery check, and self-timer. A detachable flash can be attached to the side of the body. Plastic body available in black.
