Manual focus normal macro lens made for R-mount macro bellows introduced by Leica in 1968. Leica made two versions of this lens. This is the first version of the lens meant to be used on the Bellows-R unit (16860) and offers an infinity-to-life-size focusing range. The lens does not have a focusing helicoid on its own. Lenses below serial number 2933351 use Series VII filters held in place by the 14161 adapter. Later lenses changed to use E55 filters. At Photokina 1992, Leica announced a second, slightly smaller version of the lens (11270) together with a new Bellows-BR2 unit (16880). This new lens/bellows kit offered an infinity to 1.1:1 focusing range and automatic aperture stop-down. Metal body available in black (11230).
