Model Details

Manual focus telephoto lens made for R-mount 35mm SLR cameras introduced by Leica in 1980. It has a built-in lens hood and a 30-degree angle of view. The use of new highly refractive glass types allowed for significant weight reduction and resulted in this lens only being slightly heavier than the 90mm f2. even with the extra stop of light transmission. This lens has a 3-Cam mount. 3-Cam lenses have two sloped cams and a third stepped cam and are compatible with all Leicaflex and R-series cameras. Metal body available in black (11880).

Leica R

Leica introduced the R system in 1964 as an alternative to their M mount rangefinders and as a response to the successful SLR systems of the time, including Nikon F and Pentax M42. The R system was produced, with some modifications, until 2009.

Most R mount lenses can be used on any R mount camera, but there are compatibility issues with both the oldest and newest lenses. Over time, Leica added features and technology to the lenses that made them incompatible.
