Manual focus FD-mount 35mm SLR released by Canon in 1973. It was the prosumer model below the original F-1 and incorporated some advanced electronics. This includes a hybrid shutter where some speeds are governed mechanically and some use electronics. It was made to use two 1.35v PX625 mercury batteries but the camera has a bridge circuit enabling the use of modern 1.5v batteries. The original price (89,500 Yen w/ 50mm f1.4 S.S.C.) is the equivalent of around 1550 Euros in 2023. Metal body available in black.
