It was introduced at Photokina Köln 2002 together with the HM 16-30 film magazine, two digital backs, and the HV 90X viewfinder. The two digital backs were produced by Phase One and Kodak (H101 and ProBack 645H). Like the earlier V-series cameras, the H-series uses lenses with built-in leaf shutters. A version of the H1 named Fujifilm GX645AF was available in Japan. Metal and plastic body available in gray (3013050).
