Autofocus telephoto lens made for F-mount SLRs by Nikon starting in 1997. This is the second version of the older lens (1993) with the same name. It has faster autofocus than the first version and uses a two-touch zoom design rather than the push/pull design of the first version. The optical structure has three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements. It has an aperture ring with an AI ridge and AI-S indent so it will work on most manual (excluding F, F2, and Nikkormats) Nikon bodies and will work with the advanced program modes of later models. Metal body available in black.
